simple curiosities of kimistarr

so one of our goals this year is to take life slower

we live in a electronic world

cell phones, computers, television

this weekend we are taking a pledge

from friday night

to saturday night

we are going without all of that

and more

no lights, no batteries, no stove, no twitter, no blogs, no e-mail

we are keeping heat (cause it is supposed to be freezing)

we will turn off our cell phones

we can read

we can clean

we can enjoy each other's company

we will be using our car

cause i really want to go to a dutch oven demostration

i will be using my holga documenting the day

i will scan my pictures when i get the film back

i will blog via pen and paper

yep, you read right

i will write about my day and our experience

and will scan it in also and will post on Monday or Tuesday

also along with the slow movement

i came across our city lights blog

i will be participating in the Slow Readers Book Club

well it is now 2010

i hoped to be a better blogger
FAIL
at least for the 1st 3 days of this month

i have goals
just like everyone else
but am really bad at keeping them
i get lost and discourage when
i don't do them

i am going to blog differently moving forward
i am in the process of creating a new home
for my thoughts, for my crafts, for me

i have never been a follower
but have come to needing friends
or approval from everyone
not doing things for myself
or because i need to be liked

that time is OVER

i am trying to break from this routine
i am going to be myself
i am not going to apologize
for not blogging
or
beat myself up for not finishing a project

i will keep promises to all my blog friends
i will not let you down
and will be here if you ever need
a listening friend

i will blog my style
randomness and craziness
thoughts that go through my head
stuff you might not want to hear
or stuff you might

i will start taking more photographs
and talking about what might be going on in my life

time has changed
and 2010 holds great things for me
i am the only one that holds myself back
i am the only one that has control over my life

i will like what i like
not because it is the "cool" thing to like
but because it makes me happy inside

all of you make me happy inside
so this journey continues
just on a different path

I work for a company called Mosaic
Job Title - Operations Coordinator for Fulfillment and Assets
fancy title for - making sure people have stuff and if they leave the company, i get it back
I enjoy my job. I love my team mates!

i am working from home this afternoon
due to "inclement weather"
if it gets icy at all here
people freak out
i will take it though
cause i am working
finishing up some other stuff
and watching my new obsession

i never jump on the bandwagon first time around
but will have to for Season 2
i find it witty and inspiring
i love the coach and kurt
so i am catching up on episodes
which means no commercials and not having to wait
each week for the next episode
have i told y'all i am not patient at all!

do you watch glee? if so what is your favorite character?

after traveling from cold houston to warm, dry dallas after going going all week before christmas i am sick.
i wanted to get stuff done yesterday, but ended up sleeping most of the day. then last night when i went to sleep, i only slept for 2 hours, waking up at 12:30 am and was awake until 5 am, slept for a few more hours and now up again. my cough sounds like a lung is going to come up and tissue has been my bestest friend.
i do not do good when i am sick. i get really sad and frustrated and try to do more than i should.
i am hoping this next year i am less sick than i have been. healthy food and healthier living.
hope all had a great christmas and wishes for a awesome new year.
i have lots of pictures from christmas with the kid, north pole express, gaylord texan hotel and houston christmas...just have to resize them all.
hopefully soon i will have a real picture post.

ok, so i had ended up having 4 giveaways!!

1st and 2nd draw were for comments left on the blog

i am hoping to get these packages out tomorrow morning.
tonight is our christmas eve
with the kid since we will be going to
houston for christmas this year
